CyanogenMod 10 is in the air, as it has been made available for too many devices since the first time it was released for the Galaxy S.
Now, the internal Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 has also received an
official version of the initial build of CyanogenMod 10 (CM10) Android
4.1.1 Jelly Bean ROM. With this firmware, you can enjoy almost all the
awesome features of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS such as smoother user
interface, improved voice recognition & search, better touch based
keyboard, a revamped notifications area etc. on your Galaxy S III, along
with some advanced custom functions and features. Remember that this is
just a alpha build of the official CM9 Jelly Bean ROM, and thus
includes some issues such as the FM Radio is not working, the Camera is
unstable, Wi-Fi tethering sometimes does not work etc. If you still want
to install it on your Galaxy S3, then here are the steps you will need
to follow :
How to Install CyanogenMod 10 (CM10) Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean ROM on Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 ?
- First of all, backup your data, applications, internet settings, contacts, call logs or any other important stuff on your device.
- Turn off or uninstall your device’s antivirus or firewall.
- Make sure your phone’s battery is at least 50% charged.
- Confirm that your device is running on an official CyanogenMod 9 (CM9) firmware or an AOSP based ROM. Read more : CyanogenMod 9 for the Samsung Galaxy S3.
- Root and install ClockworkMod recovery on your Galaxy S3.
- Download the latest version of CyanogenMod 10 (CM10) Android 4.1.1 ROM for your device from here – [LINK]
- Download the Google Apps Package from here – Download Link.
- Now, turn on USB debugging on your Samsung Galaxy S3 from here – Settings > Applications > Development.
- Connect your device with the computer using a data cable.
- Now transfer the Google Apps Package and the ROM (.zip) onto your device SD card.
- Now disconnect your phone from the computer and then turn it off.
- After that, enter into recovery mode by pressing and holding these buttons for a few seconds – Power + Volume Up + Home.
- Now in recovery mode, select – Wipe Data/Factory Reset and then confirm your selection next to that.
- Now select - Install Zip from SDCard > Choose ZIP from SDCard.
- Right after that, choose the .zip file of the CyanogenMod 10 ROM from your device’s internal SD card and then confirm the installation of the firmware by selecting – Yes, Install ___.zip.
- After that, install the .zip file of the Google Apps Package or GAPPS on your device in the same way you have flashed up the CM10 ROM.
- Once you are done with that, just select – ++++ Go Back ++++ and then – Reboot System Now.
