Download and install - Update Galaxy S PLUS GT I9001 with Official Value Pack Gingerbread 2.3.6 XXKQD Firmware

Procedure to Update Galaxy S PLUS GT I9001 with Value Pack Gingerbread 2.3.6 XXKQD firmware:

  • Turn Off your phone so that it can be entered in the download mode. Download Mode in Galaxy S PLUS GT I9001 can be entered by pressing the Volume Down rocker key + power button at the same time while the device is turned Off.
  • If the device starts in the normal mode, you need to re try the process of the entering the device into the download mode. Connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable which you got with the phone and once you connect it will install all the required drivers and then the ID : COM section will turn Yellow which will indicate that all the drivers are installed and you are ready to proceed to the next step.
  • Click on “PDA” to select “I9001XXKQD_I9001ODDKP5_I9001DDKP9_HOME.tar.md5” and simple click on “Start” to start the process of firmware update. It will take around 4 -5 minutes for applying the update, once the firmware is updated, the Galaxy S PLUS GT I9001 will reboot automatically. Once you see the home screen, disconnect the device and configure the prompted settings.
  • You may now be prompted to enter the Google Account details and Country selector with the Language preference, make sure that you have an active data connection.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.

Download and install Galaxy S PLUS GT I9001 with ICS 4.0 based Ehndroix Custom ROM Firmware

Procedure to Install Ehndroix custom ROM firmware in Galaxy S GT I9001 PLUS:
  • Download the Ehndroix custom ROM firmware along with the Add On package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, you will then have to connect your Galaxy S GT I9001 PLUS device to computer with the help of original USB cable and place these two zip files in your device.
  • Disconnect  the device and turn off the same so that it can be entered in the recovery mode. Recovery mode in Galaxy S PLUS I9001 can be entered by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, turn ON your device.
  • In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition”. Additionally, select “advanced” and clear the Dalvik cache too if you are on the custom ROM firmware.
  • Now, select “Go Back” and select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from internal sd card” and then select the Ehndroix custom ROM firmware first and then the Add On package which you have placed in your phone.
  • Once selected, it will take around 5 -6 minutes for applying this update. Also, for the first boot it will take more time than usual as it has to setup all the system files and other apps which are necessary ones. Ensure that you have cleared the cache in your device as it will wipe all the unwanted data from the recovery mode just in case if you face any force close issues in any of the Google Apps or the core apps present in your device.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.

How to Update Galaxy S PLUS I9001 with ICS Nexus Styled Custom ROM Firmware

Procedure to Update Galaxy S PLUS I9001 with My Simple ROM Firmware:
  • Download My Simple Custom ROM firmware Package in your computer. Once downloaded, connect your Galaxy S PLUS I9001 from here to your computer and place the downloaded zip file in your phone, Ensure that you are not placing the zip file deep into the sub folders.
  • Disconnect the device and turn off the device so that it can be then entered in the recovery mode.
  • Recovery mode in Galaxy S PLUS I9001 can be entered by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, turn ON your device. In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition”. Additionally, select “advanced” and clear the Dalvik cache too if you are on the custom ROM firmware.
  • Select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from internal sd card” and then choose the My Simple Custom ROM firmware Package which you placed in your device. Once you have selected the file, it will take around 3 – 4 minutes for applying the same. Also, it will take more time than usual for rebooting the device in the normal mode. Don’t press the power button or reinsert the battery at this point of time
