Download-install and Update Samsung Galaxy ACE 2 with Kitkat 4.4.2 Firmware

Note: This update is the custom ROM firmware and not the official firmware from Samsung released.

Quick Pre-requisites:

      All data in your Samsung Galaxy ACE 2 must be secured using the steps mentioned below and not with the Samsung KIES, so as to ensure that the data be restored manually.
Go to the path "Settings> Applications> Development> USB Debugging" on your Samsung Galaxy ACE 2 to enable the USB debugging mode. Could charge batteries in the left device must have a minimum of 60% or other device to be getting off in the middle of firmware update.

      Since this is the custom ROM firmware, you must ensure that your phone is rooted. Download "Root Checker" app. Just in case, if the device is not rooted, it is imperative that the root of the device. You must also ensure that you are not under the backup using the ROM Manager app.
 Update process for Galaxy ACE 2 with Android 4.4.2 firmware Kitkat :

    
Cyanogen Mod 11 Download firmware package and Google Apps Package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, you must have the same in your device to place the .
    
Turn on the device so that it can be entered into the recovery mode .

    
Press and hold Home + Power + Volume Up button to turn the device into recovery mode. If your Galaxy ACE 2 is in the normal mode , then you need to try again , the process of entering the device is in Recovery Mode . You can also enter the device in recovery mode by using the ROM Manager app.

    
In recovery mode , select Clear data "and" to delete Wipe cache " the data and wipe the phone available in your cache.

    
Once the data is deleted , select "install zip from SD card " and select the firmware ZIP file that you have provided in the device and then followed by the Google Apps package then . It will take about 4 to 5 minutes, until both of the zip files on the device.

    
Once done , select "Back" and select the " Restart in normal mode " option for a device restart normally. Please note that it can sometime take longer than 3 -4 minutes to restart the device to normal mode .

    
If you are getting all the force close error , restart the device back into recovery mode and then clear the cache and wipe the data , start the unit in the normal mode.

    
Go to the path " Settings> Phone " to know the firmware version , the details are mentioned as KITKAT 4.4.2 .Note: If all Galaxy ACE 2 gets in the boot loop sequence , then you must turn off the power , then at the update from the beginning. To turn the battery use or say you can long press the power button.Please let us know just in case if you ask any questions in the comments section . Download and install Manual Update Galaxy Mega 6.3 Cyanogen Mod 11 with Kitkat 4.4.2 Android Firmware

Galaxy Mega 6.3 Android smartphone can now be updated with the Cyanogen Mod 11 firmware which ropes in the latest Kitkat 4.4.2 Android OS. The best part is that it comes with the added features which otherwise is only available with the Kitkat 4.4.2 Android OS which is available with the Nexus range of smartphones. Please note that this is not the official firmware reelased by Samsung and is the Cyanogen Mod 11 firmware which ropes in the goodness of Kitkat 4.4.2 Android firmware. While there are no updates on by when there will be official Kitkat 4.4.2 Android firmware for this smartphone, let’s check out on how you can apply this update manually.
Note: Please note that since this is the custom ROM firmware, you need to root the same.


Procedure to Update Galaxy Mega 6.3 Android smartphone with Cyanogen Mod 11 Firmware:
  • Download the Kitkat 4.4.2 Android Firmware and Google Apps Package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and place the same in your device.
  • Disconnect the device from computer and turn Off the same so that the device can be entered in the recovery mode.
  • Recovery mode in Galaxy Mega 6.3 can be entered by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, you need to switch ON your device.
  • In recovery mode, select options to clear and wipe the data present in your phone by selecting the options like “Clear Data” and “Wipe Cache”.
  • Once done, you now need to select the option of “install zip from sd card” and then select the firmware zip file which you have placed in the device and then followed by the Google Apps Package. It will take around 4 -5 minutes to apply both the zip files in your device.
Note: If at all your Galaxy Mega 6.3 gets in the boot loop sequence then you need to turn off the device and then reapply the update from the start. To turn off you can reinsert the battery or say you can long press the power button.
