How to Update Galaxy Tab 8.9 with Jellybean 4.1.1 based AOKP Firmware

Procedure to Update Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 i957 tablet with Jellybean 4.1.1 based AOKP firmware:
  • Now, disconnect the tablet connected from computer and turn off the device so that it can be entered in the recovery mode. You can also enter the device in the recovery mode from the ROM Manager app which can be downloaded from the Google PLAY Store.
  • In recovery mode, select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the placed Unofficial jellybean 4.1.1 based AOKP Firmware package and Google Apps. Once the files are selected, it will take around 4 – 5minutes for applying the firmware update which can be tracked with the help of the progress bar.
  • After this from the recovery mode, you need to select“++++ Go Back ++++” > “reboot system now” to reboot the phone. Please note that it will take more than normal time for booting the device after the firmware is applied. If you are getting any force close errors, then from the recovery mode, clear all the cache from the device as these files create the force close issues.
Note: Just in a rare case if your Samsung Tab refuses to turn ON or say if it gets stuck on the Samsung Logo then you need to long press the power button to turn off the same or re insert the battery to start the process from the start.

Download and install - Manual Update with Official ICS 4.0.4 Firmware

Procedure to Update T Mobile Galaxy Tab 7.7 with Official ICS Update:
  • Download the ICS 4.0.4 Firmware Package and Odin from here to your computer. Once downloaded, all you need to do is to just extract the Odin package to get the Odin.exe. Open Odin in your computer and turn off the device so that it can be entered in the Download mode.
  • Download Mode in T Mobile Galaxy Tab 7.7 can be entered by pressing the Volume Down + Power button till the device gets turned ON in the download mode. If the device gets turned ON in the normal mode, then you need to retry entering the device in the download mode.
  • Connect your Tablet with the computer using the Original USB cable while the Odin is opened in your computer. Once you connect the device to the computer, ID : COM section will turn Yellow which will indicate that all the drivers have been installed.
  • Click on “PDA” to select the “T859UVLH6_T859TMBLH6_T859UVLH6_HOME.tar.md5” and click on “Start” for starting the firmware update process. It will take around 3 – 4 minutes for applying the update. As soon as the device is updated successfully, it will be rebooted automatically.
  • From the path “Settings > About Tablet > Firmware Version” you can check on whether the firmware has been updated or not as it will show the current firmware as ICS 4.0.4 firmware version.
Note: Just in a rare case if your Samsung device refuses to turn ON or say if it gets stuck on the Samsung Logo then you need to long press the power button to turn off the same or re insert the battery to start the process from the start.

Download and install - update Galaxy Tab 750 P7500 with Official ICS 4.0.4 Firmware

Procedure to Update Galaxy Tab 750 with Official ICS 4.0.4 XWLP5 Firmware: 
  • Download the ICS 4.0.4 XWLP5 Firmware Package & Odin from here to your computer. Once downloaded, you now will have to extract both the zip files in your computer. Once extracted, you will have to open the Odin in your computer.
  • Now, turn off your Galaxy Tab so that it can be then entered in the download mode. The download mode can be entered successfully by holding the volume down button you will have to switch ON the device. Now, select the download mode from the shown option.
  • Connect the Galaxy Tab 750 with the help of the USB cable with the computer while the Odin is opened in the computer. Now, once its connected, you will see that ID : COM Section will turn yellow which will indicate that all the drivers have been successfully installed in your computer and you are ready to proceed to the next step. In Odin, Auto Reboot, F. Reset Time options & Re-Partition option should be unticked.
  • In Odin, Click on “PDA” to select “P7500XWLP5_P7500ODDLP5_P7500XXLQ8_INU_ONLY_HOME.tar.md5” and then proceed to click on “Start”. It will take around 3 – 6 minutes for applying the update and once it’s successfully updated the device will be shown with the Language selection settings etc.
  • Please note that in the process of device restart, it may take more than 3 -4 minutes for rebooting the device which is normal as it’s the first time the device is booting after the firmware update.
  • Just in case if the device gets any force close errors then you will have to enter the device in the recovery mode and clear the cache and wipe the data. The recovery mode can be entered successfully by holding the volume down button you will have to switch ON the device. Now, select the recovery mode from the shown option.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.
So, once the device is restarted you can check on whether the device has been updated or not from the path “Settings > About Device > Build Number”. How to Update Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wi Fi P7510 with Official ICS 4.0 Firmware

Procedure to Update Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7510 with ICS 4.0 Firmware:
  • Download the ICS UELPL Firmware PackageOdin from here to your computer. Once downloaded you will have to unzip the Odin package to get the Odin executable file. Open the Odin in your computer and turn off your Galaxy Tab so that it can be entered in the download mode.
  • Now, extract the firmware zip file to get the “P7510XABLPL_P7510UELPL_HOME.tar.md5”, ignore the other .dll file.
  • While the Galaxy Tab is turned Off, Press Volume Down button and then holding this rocker key, turn ON the tab by pressing the Power button after which the phone will be turning ON in the Download mode. Just in case if the phone gets turned ON in the normal mode, then you need to try entering the Download mode again.
  • Once the device is entered in the Download Mode, you will have to connect the tab with the computer using the Original USB cable while keeping Odin in your computer. Once you connect the device to the computer, you will see that the ID : COM section will turn Yellow which will mean that all the drivers are installed successfully and you are ready to proceed to the next step.
  • Click on “PDA” to select the “P7510XABLPL_P7510UELPL_HOME.tar.md5” file which is there from the extracted folder. Once selected, click on “Start” for starting the process of firmware update. It will take around 4 – 5minutes for applying the update. Once the update is applied successfully, the device will be rebooting and once you see the home screen, you can disconnect the device and enjoy the same.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.
(Optional) For users facing issues of Force Close Errors:
Turn Off the device and then press Volume Up button and then holding this rocker key, turn ON the tab by pressing the Power button after which the phone will be turning ON in the recovery mode. In recovery mode, you need to select the options of “wipe cache partition” as well as “wipe data / factory reset” and select “yes” so that both of these options are processed.

Download and install CyanogenMod 10 (CM10) Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean ROM for samsung Galaxy Tab 2.7.0

How to Install CyanogenMod 10 (CM10) Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean ROM on the Galaxy Tab 2.7.0


  • The process may result in losing all of your data like apps, messages, contacts etc. So first of all take back up of all data to work risk-free.
  • Uninstall the antivirus from device (if any).
  • Don’t let the power of the device to create any problem for you. So keep your device charged at least 50 percent.
  • Install ClockworkMod recovery on your phone.
  • Download the zip file of the CM10 ROM for your Galaxy Tab 2.7.0 from here.
  • Download the .zip file of the Google Apps Package or GAPPS from here.
  • Make sure to save both the files on internal SD card of phone.
  • Press the VOL DOWN + HOME + POWER buttons to enter into the recovery mode.
  • Now select the ‘Install Zip From SD Card’ option and choose the .zip file of the ROM from your SD card.
  • Select ‘Yes, Install__.zip’  to proceed further with the process.
  • You can install the GAPPS.zip in the same way by booting your phone into ClockworkMod recovery.
  • Reboot the phone and now it will be running on CM 10 based on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean.

Procedure to Update Galaxy Tab 7.7 with ICS 4.0.4 Firmware:
  • Download the ICS 4.0.4 Firmware Package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, you need to connect your Galaxy Tab with the computer using the original USB cable and then followed by which place the downloaded zip file in your device. Ensure that you are not placing the file deep into any of the sub folders.
  • Once the file is placed, disconnect the device connected from the computer and turn off the same so that it can be then entered in the recovery mode. Press the Volume Up + Power keys together so that it can be entered in the recovery mode. If the device turns On in the normal mode, you need to again retry the process of firmware update.
  • Now, in the recovery mode, select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the P6800XXLQ1_ICS_IT168.zip which you have placed in the device. Once its selected, it will take around 4 – 5 minutes for applying he update. As soon as its updated, you will see that you will be asked with the Language preferences setting and then you will have to disconnect the device connected from the computer. To check on the firmware has been updated or not, you need to check from the path Settings > About Tablet > Firmware Version where you will see that the firmware version as 4.1. In the next coming days, we will be coming up with more custom ROM firmwares.
Note: Just in a rare case if your Samsung device refuses to turn ON or say if it gets stuck on the Samsung Logo then you need to long press the power button to turn off the same or re insert the battery to start the process from the start.

How to Update Galaxy TAB 8.9 with AOSP based Jellybean 4.1.1 Firmware ALPHA 2

Procedure to Update Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 with Jellybean 4.1.1 Update:
  • First up you need to Root Galaxy Tab 8.9 by following the instructions mentioned here. Once it’s done, you now will have to check the same whether the device is rooted or not by downloading the app called “Root Checker” from the Google PLAY Store. Open the app where you will see the status of the rooting status.
  • Download the Jellybean 4.1.1 Update Package (for 3G Version) from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your device to the computer and place the same in your device and make sure that you are not placing the file deep into the device.
  • The recovery mode in tab can be entered by holding the Volume down button + Press the power button for 15 seconds till you see the two icons in your tab. Release the buttons and with the help of Volume buttons, select “Recovery Mode” and wait till the recovery mode is shown up.
  • With the help of Volume Key, you need to select “apply zip from SD Card” after which you need to select the Jellybean 4.1.1 firmware file which you have placed in the Galaxy Tab. You can also install from the other apps
  • It will take around 5 – 10 minutes for finishing the rooting process. Once the rooting process is completed, either it will automatically get restarted or will land up in the recovery mode screen. In recovery mode, select “go back” and select “reboot system now” for rebooting the device in the normal mode.
Note: Just in a rare case if the device is not updated and it gets into the boot loop mode, you need to again clear the cache from the recovery mode and retry the whole process from the start.

How to Update Galaxy Tab 7.7 with ICS 4.0.4 Firmware – Tutorial

Procedure to Update Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 with ICS Android 4.0.4 Firmware:
  • Download the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 ICS 4.0.4 Package and Odin from here to your computer. Once downloaded, extract both the files in your computer and open odin in your computer. Once the firmware zip file is extracted, you will get the file which is “P6810OXALPK_P6810XXLPK_HOME.tar.md5”.
  • Now, turn Off your Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 so that it can be entered in the download mode. The download mode can be entered by pressing the Volume Down + power button and then once the device is powered ON you will have to keep pressing the Volume Down button till it gives out the prompt to select the option of “Download Mode”. Select the same and connect your device with the computer using the original USB cable.
  • Now, once you connect the device, you will see that the ID : COM Section will turn yellow which will mean that all the drivers have been installed successfully and you are ready to proceed with the file selections.
Note: If the ID: COM section doesn’t turn Yellow, you need to check with two things which are mentioned below,
  • Install the USB Drivers in your computer &
  • Go to the Path “Settings > Wireless & Network > USB Settings” and ensure that “Samsung KIES” option is ticked before connecting the phone to the computer.
  • Click on “PDA” to select “P6810OXALPK_P6810XXLPK_HOME.tar.md5” from the extracted file. Once the file is selected, click on “Start” to start the process of firmware update. It will take around 4 – 5 minutes for applying this update.
  • Once the device is updated with the update, the device will be rebooted automatically. Once you see the language selection tool and country selection option in your Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, you can disconnect the connected USB cable and use it normally.
Note: Just in a rare case if the device is not updated and it gets into the boot loop mode, you need to again clear the cache from the recovery mode and retry the whole process from the start.
  • You can check on whether the firmware has been successfully updated or not from the path “Settings > About Tablet” where the firmware version will be shown as ICS Android 4.0.4 firmware.

After some development time just seem to almost all supported devices first Release Candidate (RC1) of CyanogenMod 9 - which are similar in functionality to the later official version of CM9. Because of the varied number of different devices (over 70), a general statement about the stability can hardly be met. As a rule, so teach us the lessons of the past, the
CyanogenMod 9 Release Candidate versions of everyday use and fully stable. Have to wait for an official RC1 release Owner of a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Samsung's sometimes quite obscure source policy makes the diligent development community a spanner in the works, the camera does not work to date.
Nevertheless, it should be worth taking a look at the current status of all 9-CyanogenMod customROM fans.
