  • Download KitKat 4.4.2 Android firmware package from here to your computer along with the Google Apps Package.
  •  Once downloaded , connect your phone to your computer . Put the downloaded zip 2 files in your device off and disconnect the device from the computer .
  • Turn on the device so that it can be entered into the recovery mode. Galaxy S2 , by holding the Volume Up button + Home key button ( the middle button) to be entered into the recovery mode . Hold these two buttons , you must turn on your device.
  • Alternatively, you can also use the recovery mode using the " ROM Manager " app . In recovery mode , select appropriate options to disable , and then wipe the existing data in your phone .
  •  In recovery mode , select " install zip from SD card " , and then select the zip file of the firmware zip package that you have placed on your phone. Now, after the firmware is updated, select "Back" and select " reboot system now "
  •  .Please note that it may take 3 to 4 minutes for the update. Once the update applied and if you see your device on the home screen , you can disconnect the device from the computer.
  • Order on whether the firmware is successful or not , head over to the path " Settings> Phone " where the firmware version is like KitKat mentioned 4.4.2 firmware check applied .

  • Download KitKat 4.4.2 Android Firmware package and Google Apps Package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and place the two zip files in your device.
  • Press and hold Home + Power + Volume Up buttons to enter the device in the Recovery Mode. If your Galaxy S2 I9100 enters in the Normal mode, then you need to re try the process of entering the device in the Recovery Mode. You can also enter the device in the recovery mode with the help of ROM Manager app.
  • In recovery mode, you need to clear and wipe the data present in your phone by selecting the options like “Clear Data” and “Wipe Cache” options.
  • Select “install zip from sd card” and then select the firmware zip file which you have placed in the device. It will take around 4 -5 minutes to apply both the zip files in your device.

Download and install Update Galaxy S2 GT I9100G with Jellybean 4.1.2 XWLSR Firmware

Tutorial to Update Galaxy S2 GT I9100 with Jellybean 4.1.2 XWLSR Firmware:
  • Download Jellybean 4.1.2 XWLSR Firmware and Odin from here to your computer. Once downloaded, extract both the files preferably to the desktop to a folder. Now, open Odin in your computer.
  • Turn Off your Galaxy S2 GT I9100G smartphone so that it can be entered in the Download Mode. Download mode in Galaxy S II GT I9100G can be entered by pressing Volume down Key, Center button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button after which a green robot will be shown indicating the Download Mode has been entered.
  • Open Odin in your computer and connect your Galaxy S2 I9100G smartphone with the computer using the original USB cable. In Odin you will see that the ID : COM section will turn Yellow indicating that all the drivers are installed successfully.
  • In Odin, click on “PDA” and select the .tar file which you get after the extraction of the firmware zip file. Ignore the .dll file.
  • Now, once you have selected the tar file in the PDA Section, click on “Start” to start the process of firmware update process.
  • Once the firmware is updated, your Galaxy S2 GT I9100G smartphone will be restarting automatically. Now, all you need to do is to just ensure that you are not disconnecting the device till you see the country selector / home screen in your device.

Root Galaxy S2 I9100 on XWLS8 Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware

Procedure to Root Galaxy S II GT I9100 on Jellybean XWLS8 4.1.2 Firmware:
  • Turn Off your Galaxy S2 I9100 so that your device can be entered in the Download Mode. Download mode in Galaxy S2 GT I9100 can be entered in recovery mode by pressing the Volume Up rocker key + power button at the same time while the device is turned Off. If the device starts in the normal mode, you need to re try the process of the entering the device into the download mode.
  • Once the device is entered in the Download Mode, Open Odin in your computer and connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and then you will see that the ID: COM section will turn Yellow indicating that all the drivers have been installed successfully.
  • Now, click on “PDA” and then you will have to select “”. Once selected, click on “Start” to start the process of Rooting.
  • Once the device is rooted, the device will be rooted. It will take around 1 -3 minutes for rooting the device. Once the device is rooted, phone will be rebooted.
Note: Just in a rare case if the device is not updated and it gets into the boot loop mode, you need to again clear the cache from the recovery mode and retry the whole process from the start.
  • Download the Root Checker app from the Google PLAY Store to check whether your device is rooted or not.  Also, if it’s rooted, you then will have to download and install the ROM Manager app from the Google PLAY Store.

Samsung has just started to push Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update to the International Samsung Galaxy S II GT-I9100. The Galaxy S II is the best-selling Android device of 2011 and has a very large user base that’s why Samsung keeps on updating this device with all the new Android versions as they want to provide the Galaxy S II users with their best support experience.

You might not be able to update your device to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean right away as the update is rolling out in phases. So, it might not yet be available for your country or network provider (If Your device is Carrier branded) but don’t worry the update will arrive soon.

Download and install Update Galaxy S2 GT I9100G with Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware

Procedure to Update Galaxy S2 GT I9100G with Avatar ROM Jellybean 4.1.2 firmware:
  • Now, disconnect the device from computer and turn Off the device so that it can be entered in the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered either with the help of “ROM Manager” app or manually with the help of below mentioned step.
  • Recovery mode in your Galaxy Device can be entered by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, turn ON your device.
  • In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition”. If the device starts normally, then you will need to re try the process of entering the device in the recovery mode. Now, select “install zip from SD Card” in the recovery mode to choose the zip file which you have placed in your device.
  • Now, once the firmware is updated, select “go back” and select “reboot system now”. To check on whether the firmware is updated or not, head over to the path “Settings > About Phone” for checking the same.
Note: Just in a rare case if the device doesn’t boot up or show the home screen then remove the battery and reinsert the same to boot the device again in the normal mode.

Once you see the message as “install from sd card completed”, select “go back” and select “reboot system now” for rebooting the device in the normal mode.

Download and install - Root Galaxy S2 GTI9100 on XXLSJ Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware

Procedure to Root Galaxy S2 on XXLSJ Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware:
  • Download Odin and XXLSJ Firmware Package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, extract the firmware package and open the Odin in your computer.
  • Turn Off your Galaxy S2 so that it can be entered in the download mode. The download mode in Galaxy S2 GT I9100 can be entered in recovery mode by pressing the Volume Up rocker key + power button at the same time while the device is turned Off. If the device starts in the normal mode, you need to re try the process of the entering the device into the download mode.
  • Connect your Galaxy S2 with your computer / Laptop and then in Odin you will see that the ID : COM section will turn Yellow indicating that all the drivers are installed successfully.
Note: If ID : COM section doesn’t turn Yellow, you need to check with two things which are mentioned below,
Install the USB Drivers in your computer &
Go to the Path “Settings > Wireless & Network > USB Settings” and ensure that “Samsung KIES” option is ticked before connecting the phone to the computer.
  • Now, click on “PDA” to select the tar file which you got after extraction. Once selected, click on “Start” the process of Rooting. Once the rooting process is done, the phone will be rebooted. Please note that it might take few moments of time for rebooting the device and may take longer time than expected to show up the home screen.
Note: Just in a rare case if the device is not updated and it gets into the boot loop mode, you need to again clear the cache from the recovery mode and retry the whole process from the start.
  • Download the Root Checker app from the Google PLAY Store to check whether your device is rooted or not.  Also, if it’s rooted, you then will have to download and install the ROM Manager app from the Google PLAY Store.

  • Once you have placed these two files, disconnect the device from computer to download the “ROM Manager” app from PLAY Store. Open the app and grant the Superuser access by tapping on the “Grant” option.
  • Now, from the ROM Manager app, select “Enter into Recovery Mode” for booting the device in the recovery mode or else you can also manually enter the device in the recovery mode by first turning Off the device. Recovery mode in Galaxy S GT I9000G can be entered manually by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, turn ON your device.
  • In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition”. If the device starts normally, then you will need to re try the process of entering the device in the recovery mode.
  • Now, select “install zip from sd card” to choose the placed Cyanogen Mod 10 Jellybean 4.2 Zip Package and Google Apps Package. It will take around 3 – 5 minutes for applying the update. Please note that sometimes it may take more than expected time for updating the same.
  • Now, once the firmware is updated, select “go back” and select “reboot system now”. To check on whether the firmware is updated or not, head over to the path “Settings > About Phone” for checking the same.

Procedure to Update Jellybam 4.2 Update in GALAXY S2 GT I9100:
  • Download the Jellybam 4.2 Firmware Package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and place the zip file in your device.
  • Once you have placed the file, disconnect the device and turn off your device so that it can be entered in the recovery mode.
  • Recovery mode in Galaxy S3 GT I9100 can be entered by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, turn ON your device.
  • In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition”. If the device starts normally, then you will need to re try the process of entering the device in the recovery mode. You can also enter the device in recovery mode alternatively via the ROM Manager app which can be downloaded from the Google PLAY Store.
  • Now, in the recovery mode, select “install zip from SD Card” to select the zip file of Jellybam which you have placed in your device’s SD Card. Once the file is selected, you now need to wait for the zip file to get processed in the device. As soon as you see the message of “installing from sd card completed” at the bottom of the screen, you now need select “go back” and then select “reboot system now” for rebooting the device in the normal mode. Device will take longer time than expected for rebooting the device.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.

Procedure to Update Galaxy S2 GT I9100 with Thebyani custom ROM Firmware:
  • Download the Thebyani custom ROM Firmware Package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and place the same in your device.
  • Ensure that you are not placing the file deep into the device. Once the file is placed, disconnect the phone from computer and turn off the device from computer so that it can be entered in the recovery mode.
  • Recovery mode in Galaxy S3 GT I9100 can be entered by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, turn ON your device.
  • In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition”. If the device starts normally, then you will need to re try the process of entering the device in the recovery mode. You can also enter the device in recovery mode via the ROM Manager app which can be downloaded from the Google PLAY Store.
  • Now, select “Go Back” and select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from internal sd card” and then choose the Thebyani custom ROM Firmware Package which you have placed in your phone.
  • Once you select the firmware update zip package, you will have to wait for the same to finish the update process. As soon as the update is applied, select “Go Back” and select the “reboot system now” for rebooting the Galaxy S2.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.

How to Update Galaxy S2 GT I9100 with RootBox Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware


Procedure to Update Galaxy S2 GT I9100 with Root Box Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware:
  • Disconnect the device from computer and turn off your Galaxy S2 so that it can be entered in the recovery mode. Recovery mode in Galaxy S3 GT I9300 can be entered by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, turn ON your device.
  • In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition”. If the device starts normally, then you will need to re try the process of entering the device in the recovery mode. You can also enter the device in recovery mode via the ROM Manager app.
  • Select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from internal sd card” and then choose the Root Box Jellybean 4.1.2 Custom ROM Firmware and Google APPS Package which you have placed in your phone. It will take around 4 -5 minutes for applying the update.
  • Once the update is applied, select the option of “Go Back” and “Reboot System now” for rebooting the device in the normal mode. Since it’s a first reboot, it will take more time than the normal mode as it has to finalize all the apps etc.

Download and install - Update Galaxy S2 & Galaxy S3 with AOKP 3.0 Firmware Version

 
Procedure to Update AOKP 3 Firmware Update in Galaxy S2 and in Galaxy S3 Device:
  • Download the below mentioned corresponding firmware from here to your computer and Google Apps package. Once downloaded, you will have to connect the phone to the computer and place these two files in your device. Kindly select the appropriate file for your Galaxy Smartphone or else it may even brick the phone.
  • Once you have placed the file in your phone, turn off the device so that it can be entered in the recovery mode.
  • Recovery mode in your Galaxy S2 or S3 device can be entered by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). In recovery mode, select Clear cache and wipe all the data present in your phone so as to make sure that there are no force close errors after applying this update.
  • In recovery mode, select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the placed AOKP Firmware Package. Once the file selection is over, the firmware will be applied within 10 minutes, you can see the progress of firmware update with the help of a progress bar. As soon as you see the home screen, select “Go Back” to select the option of “reboot system now” for rebooting the device in the normal mode.
Note: Just in a rare case if your Samsung Galaxy S III refuses to turn ON or say if it gets stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Logo then you need to long press the power button to turn off the same or re insert the battery to start the process from the start.

How to Update Galaxy S2 GT I9100 with Official ICS XWLPX 4.0.4 Firmware

Procedure to Update Galaxy S2 with ICS XWLPX Firmware:
  • Download XWLPX Firmware Package and Odin from here to your computer. Once downloaded, extract both the zip files preferably to the desktop. Now, turn off the computer so that it can be then entered in the download mode.
  • Download mode in Galaxy S II GT I9100 can be entered by pressing Volume down Key, Center button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button after which a green robot will be shown indicating the Download Mode has been entered.
  • Open Odin in your computer. Connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and then you will see that the ID : COM Section will turn Yellow.
Note: If ID : COM section doesn’t turn Yellow, you need to check with two things which are mentioned below,
  • Install the USB Drivers in your computer &
  • Go to the Path “Settings > Wireless & Network > USB Settings” and ensure that “Samsung KIES” option is ticked before connecting the phone to the computer.
  • Click on “PDA” and select the tar file which you got after extracting the firmware update package. After selecting the PDA file, click on “Start” to start the process of firmware update. As soon as the device is updated successfully, the device will be restarted. As soon as you see the home screen or language preference setting options, you can then disconnect the device and turn Off the device in the recovery mode.
  • Recovery mode in Samsung Galaxy S II I9100 can be entered by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, turn ON your device.
  • In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition” for clearing out all the cache data present in your device. Once it’s done, select “reboot system now”. As soon as the device is rebooted, you can check the same whether the firmware update has been applied or not from the path “Settings > About phone > Firmware version” where it will be mentioned as XWLPX.
Note: Just in a rare case if the device is not updated and it gets into the boot loop mode, you need to again clear the cache from the recovery mode and retry the whole process from the start.

How to Update Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100 with Official ICS 4.0.4 XWLPO Firmware

Procedure to Update Galaxy SII GTI9100 with Official ICS 4.0.4 XWLPO:
  • Download ICS 4.0.4 XWLPO Firmware package & Odin from here to your computer. Once downloaded, extract the same to get the tar file and Odin executable file. Now, open Odin in your computer and turn off your phone so that it can be entered in the download mode.
  • Download mode in Galaxy S II GT I9100 can be entered by pressing Volume down Key, Center button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button after which a green robot will be shown indicating the Download Mode has been entered.
  • Connect your Galaxy S2 with your computer / Laptop and then in Odin you will see that the ID : COM section will turn Yellow indicating that all the drivers are installed successfully.
Note: If ID : COM section doesn’t turn Yellow, you need to check with two things which are mentioned below,
  • Install the USB Drivers in your computer &

Procedure to Update Galaxy S2 GT I9100 with Omega 15 Custom ROM Firmware:
  • Download the Omega 15 Custom ROM firmware package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your phone to the compute with the help of original USB cable and place the zip file in your phone.
  • Now, disconnect the device and turn off the same so that it can be entered in the recovery mode. You can enter the device in the recovery mode via the ROM Manager app or manually. To enter recovery mode manually, press Volume Up Key + Menu button and then press the Power button to enter the device in the recovery mode. If the device boots up in the normal mode, then again follow the above steps so as to boot the device in the recovery mode.
  • Now, in recovery mode select “Wipe Cache” and “Wipe data/factory reset” so as to make sure that all the data is wiped off successfully or else you may get errors like Force Close. Now, select “install zip from internal sd card” to get an array of files which are there in your device. Select the Omega 15 Firmware Zip file which you have placed in your phone with the help of Volume keys and power button.
  • Now, wait for the firmware update to get applied successfully and once its done the phone will land up in the recovery mode screen where all you need to do is to just select the option of “reboot system now” for rebooting the device normally.
  • Please note that it may take longer time than expected for rebooting the device. If the device gets stuck in the S Logo for longer period of time then you need to re insert the battery and re follow all the above mentioned instructions.
