Download and install Manual Update Galaxy Note N7000 with Official Jellybean 4.1.2 XXLSA Firmware

Procedure to Update Galaxy Note N7000 with Jellybean 4.1.2 XXLSA Firmware:
  • Download XXLSA Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware Package from here to your computer along with Odin in your computer. Once downloaded extract both of them preferably to the folders on Desktop. Once extracted, open odin in your computer and turn off your Galaxy Note so that it can be entered in the Download Mode.
  • The download mode can be entered by pressing Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Just in case if the device turns ON in the normal mode, you will have to again retry entering the device in the download mode.
  • Connect your phone to computer with the help of original USB cable and then you will see that the ID : COM section will turn Yellow which will mean that all the drivers have been installed successfully and you are ready to proceed to the next step wherein you will have to click on the below mentioned corresponding tabs to select the file from extracted firmware package.

Phone – MODEM_N7000XXLSA_REV_05_CL1222228.tar.md5,
CSC – CSC_OXA_N7000OXALSA_549786_REV02_user_low_ship.tar .md5
  • Make sure that Re-Partition option is unticked and nothing should be added in the PIT section. Once you are done with all the above mentioned selections, you can now head over to the next step wherein you need to click on “Start” to start the process of firmware update.
  • It will take around 3 -4 minutes for applying the firmware, once the firmware is updated successfully you will see that device will be rebooting on its own.
  • To check on whether the firmware is updated or not, head over to the path “Settings > About Phone” for checking the same where you will see the version details as XXLSA Jellybean 4.1.2 firmware.
Note: Just in a rare case if the device doesn’t boot up or show the home screen then remove the battery and reinsert the same to boot the device again in the normal mode.

Procedure to Update Galaxy Note N7000 with Jellybam 4.2 Firmware:
  • Download the Jellybam 4.2 Firmware Package from here to your computer, once downloaded connect your Galaxy note N7000 with the computer using the original USB cable and place the zip file in your device. Ensure that you are not placing the file deep into the sub folders as it may not detect in the recovery mode.
  • Now, download the ROM Manager app from the Google PLAY Store and select “reboot in recovery mode” for booting the device in the recovery mode. Alternatively, you can also enter the device in the recovery mode with the help of manual step below.
  • Hold the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button) and while holding these both keys, press the Power button for turning the device ON in the recovery mode in your Galaxy Note.
  •  In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition”. Also, select “advanced” and clear the Dalvik cache too if you are on the custom ROM firmware. Now, select “install zip from SD Card” to find for all the zip files present in your Galaxy Note device, select the placed Jellybam Custom ROM Firmware package to initiate the process of firmware update.

Download and install - Update Galaxy Note N7000 Root on XXLS2 Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware

Tutorial to Root Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 on Jellybean 4.1 XXLS2 Firmware:
  • Download the Rooting Package and Odin from here to your computer. Once downloaded, extract both the zip files in your computer to Open Odin in your computer.
  • Turn Off your Galaxy Note so that it can be entered in the download mode. The download mode can be entered by pressing Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Just in case if the device turns ON in the normal mode, you will have to again retry entering the device in the download mode.
  • Now, connect your Note N7000 to the computer with the help of original USB cable after which you will see that the ID : COM section will turn Yellow indicating that all the drivers are OK and you can now proceed to next step.
  • Click on “PDA” to select the tar file which you will get after extracting the rooting package in odin to click on “Start”. As soon as the rooting process is completed, the device will be rebooted. The whole process of rooting will tase around 3 – 4 minutes, in some case it may take longer time as well.
  • To check on whether your device is rooted or not, you will have to download the “Root Checker” app from the Google PLAY Store. Just in case if the device is not rooted, you will have to re follow the instructions.
Note: Just in a rare case if the device doesn’t boot up or show the home screen then remove the battery and reinsert the same to boot the device again in the normal mode.

Procedure to Update Galaxy Note N7000 with Jellybean 4.1.1 XXLS2 Firmware:
  • Now, open Odin in your computer and turn off your Galaxy Note N7000 so that it can be entered in the download mode. The download mode can be entered by pressing Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Just in case if the device turns ON in the normal mode, you will have to again retry entering the device in the download mode.
  • Once your Galaxy Note N7000 enters in download mode, connect your phone to the computer with the help of original USB cable while keeping Odin opened and then you will see that the ID : COM section will turn Yellow which will indicate that all drivers are installed.
DANGER: Don’t proceed to the next step if the ID: COM Section doesn’t turn Yellow!
  • Now, click on “PDA” to select the tar file which you get after extracting the firmware file. Ignore the .dll file which you get after extracting the folder. Once selected, click on “Start” in odin to start the process of firmware update.
  • As soon as the firmware is update, the device will reboot and once you see the country selector, disconnect the phone from computer to follow on screen instructions for setting up the phone. To check whether your phone is updated or not, head over to the path “Settings > About Phone” where you will get to see the firmware version as Jellybean 4.1.1 XXLS2.
Note: Just in a rare case if the device doesn’t boot up or show the home screen then remove the battery and reinsert the same to boot the device again in the normal mode.
For Users Facing Force Close Issues:
  • If at all your device is facing issues like force close issues in most of the apps, you will now have to turn off the device and clear the cache from the recovery mode.
  • Recovery mode can be entered by pressing Center button and simultaneously press the Power Button. In the recovery mode select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option.

  • Download the 4.1.2 Paranoid Custom ROM Firmware Package and Google Apps Package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your Galaxy Note N7000 with the help of original USB cable and place these two zip files in your Galaxy Note. Ensure that you are not placing the zip file deep into the sub folders.
  • Once the zip file is placed, disconnect the device and download the “ROM Manager” app from the PLAY Store. Please note that you should not backup the data with this app as it may brick your Galaxy Note. Now, either with the help of ROM Manager app you can enter the device in the recovery mode or with the help of below mentioned manual step you can easily enter the device in the recovery mode.
  • Hold the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button) and while holding these both keys, press the Power button for turning the device ON in the recovery mode in your Galaxy Note.
  • In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition”. Also, select “advanced” and clear the Dalvik cache too if you are on the custom ROM firmware.
  • Up next select “install zip from sd card” to select the placed paranoid custom ROM firmware and the Google Apps Package. Once the firmware is completed, the screen will read as “install from sd card complete” after which you need to select “go back” and then “reboot system now” for rebooting the device in the normal mode.
  • To check on whether the Paranoid custom ROM firmware has been updated or not, you need to check the same from the path “Settings > About Phone” where you will find the firmware version as jellybean 4.1.2 and Paranoid.

Download and install - Update Galaxy Note N7000 Liquid Smooth RC3 Custom ROM Firmware

Procedure to Update Galaxy NOTE N7000 with Liquid Smooth RC3 custom ROM firmware:
  • Connect your Galaxy Note to the computer with the help of original USB cable and place the two files in your device and disconnect the same to turn off your Galaxy Note.
  • Hold the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button) and while holding these both keys, press the Power button for turning the device ON in the recovery mode in your Galaxy Note.
  • In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition”. Also, select “advanced” and clear the Dalvik cache too if you are on the custom ROM firmware.
  • Up next,  select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the Liquid Smooth RC3 custom ROM firmware Package & Google Apps package which you have placed in your Galaxy Note.
  • It will take around 3 -4 minutes for applying the update. As soon as the update is applied successfully, the device will be rebooting automatically. Please note that it may take longer time than expected for rebooting the device.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.

Download and install - Update Galaxy Note N7000 with Jellybean 4.1.1 based AOKP 4 Firmware

Procedure to Update Galaxy NOTE N7000 with AOKP 4 Firmware Version:
  • Download the Root Checker app from the Google PLAY Store and check whether the device is rooted or not. If the device is not rooted, then with the help of below steps, you will have to root the same for which we will soon be coming out with an article.
  • Now, up next download the ROM Manager app from the Google PLAY Store. Ensure that you are not creating the backup with the help of ROM Manager as it may brick the device completely.
  • Download the AOKP Firmware package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your Galaxy Note to computer with the help of original USB cable and place the downloaded zip file in your phone.
  • Disconnect the phone, turn off your Galaxy Note N7000 and hold the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button) and while holding these both keys, press the Power button for turning the device ON in the recovery mode.
  • In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition”. Also, select “advanced” and clear the Dalvik cache too if you are on the custom ROM firmware.
  • Up next,  select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the AOKP 4 Custom ROM firmware Package & Google Apps package which you have placed in your Galaxy S2.
  • It will take around 4 -5 minutes for applying this update. Once the device is updated, the device will land up in the recovery mode screen. Select “Go Back” and select “Reboot system now” for rebooting the device in the normal mode.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.
