How to Root T-Mobile / Wind / Moblicity Galaxy S III without Increasing Flash Counter

Procedure to Root the T-Mobile / Wind / Moblicity Galaxy S III without Affecting Flash Counter:
  • Download the corresponding Rooting Package mentioned below along with Odin from here to your computer. Once downloaded, you need to turn off the phone so that it can be entered in the recovery mode.
  • Also, once the zip package is downloaded, unzip the same so as to get the tar file which is named as root66 tar. Now, to enter your device in the download mode, you need to press the Volume Down key + Home button and then press the power button to boot your Galaxy S3 in the download mode.
  • Once the device gets in the downloaded mode, connect your phone to the computer and open the Odin in your and then ensure that the ID : COM section is turned yellow.
Note: If the ID : COM section doesn’t turn Yellow, you need to check with two things which are mentioned below,
  • Install the USB Drivers in your computer & Go to the Path “Settings > Wireless & Network > USB Settings” and
  • Ensure that “Samsung KIES” option is ticked before connecting the phone to the computer.
  • In Odin click on “PDA” to select the Root66.tar PDA file which you got after extracting the file and then click on “Start” to start the process of rooting. Once the device is rooted successfully, you will get to see that the device will be rebooting on its own.
  • Just in a rare case if the device is not updated and it gets into the boot loop mode, you need to again clear the cache from the recovery mode and retry the whole process from the start. The recovery mode in Galaxy S3 can be entered by pressing the Volume Up key + Home button and then press the power button to boot your Galaxy S3 in the recovery mode.
  • So now to check on whether the device is rooted or not, you can check the same with an app “Root Checker” which you can download from the Google PLAY Store. If the device is rooted, then you will get to see that the device is rooted and there you go you have successfully rooted your Galaxy S3 GT I9300 on the latest firmware of ICS.
