Download and install Update Galaxy ACE 2 I8160 with Official Jellybean 4.1.2 XXMB2 Firmware

 

Tutorial to Update Galaxy ACE 2 I8160 with Jellybean 4.1.2 XXMB2 Firmware:

• Download the Jellybean 4.1.2 XXMB2 Firmware package and Odin from here to your computer. Once downloaded, extract both of the zip files to the desktop preferably.

• Now, all you need to do is to just turn off your Galaxy ACE 2 so that it can be entered in the Download mode. Download mode in Galaxy ACE 2 can be entered by pressing Volume down Key, Center button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button after which a green robot will be shown indicating the Download Mode has been entered.

• Open Odin in your computer and connect your Galaxy ACE 2 smartphone with the computer using the original USB cable. In Odin you will see that the ID : COM section will turn Yellow indicating that all the drivers are installed successfully.

• In Odin, click respective tabs to choose the corresponding files. Ignore the .dll file.

In-PIT select the file GT-I8160_EUR_XX_4G.pit
In-PDA select the file CODE_I8160XXMB2_932015_REV00_user_low_noship.tar
In-CSC select the file CSC_OXA_I8160OXAMB2_932015_REV00_user_low_noship.tar

• Once selected, click on “Start” for starting the process of firmware update. As soon as the firmware update process is completed, you will see that the device will be rebooted automatically.

• Till you see the Language selection / Country Selector option, don’t disconnect the device from computer. It may take longer time than expected for the device to reboot as it’s the first reboot after the upgrade.

• To check whether the firmware has been updated to the latest version or not, head over to the path “Settings > About Phone” where you will get to see the firmware version as “Jellybean 4.1.2 XXMB2” firmware version.

 Note: Just in a rare case if the device doesn’t boot up or show the home screen then remove the battery and reinsert the same to boot the device again in the normal mode.

Procedure to Update Galaxy NEXUS I9250 with Android 4.2.2 JDQ39 JellyBean firmware:

• First you will need to have the Active Wi Fi Connection in your device. Turn ON the Wi Fi and head over to the path “Settings > About Phone > Software Updates” to check on whether there are any software updates available or not. Just in case if no update is found, then you can apply this firmware update manually.

• Download Android 4.2.2 JDQ39 Jellybean firmware Package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, you now need to download the ROM Manager app from the Google PLAY Store.

• You can enter your device in the Recovery Mode from the ROM Manager app as well. Galaxy Nexus I9250 can be entered in the recovery mode manually by pressing and holding the Volume Up + Volume Down and then press the Power button to enter the device in the recovery mode.

• In recovery mode, you need to select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” to select the “Jellybean 4.2.1 Firmware Package” which you have placed in your device and with the help of Volume buttons and Power button, select the same. It will take around 3 – 4 minutes for applying this update. once the device is updated, you will see the message as “Install from sd card completed” and then select “reboot system now” for rebooting the device.

Note: Just in a rare case if your Samsung device refuses to turn ON or say if it gets stuck on the Samsung Logo then you need to long press the power button to turn off the same or re insert the battery to start the process from beginning.

Procedure to Root Galaxy S Advance I9070 on XXLQ4 Firmware:

• Download Rooting Package for Galaxy S Advance from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your phone to computer with the help of original USB cable and then place the Root.Zip file in your device’s external SD Card.

• Now, disconnect the device and then turn Off your phone so that it can be entered in the Recovery mode. Recovery mode in Samsung Galaxy S Advance I9070 can be entered by pressing Volume Up Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. In recovery mode, select “clear cache” and “wipe data / factory reset” so that all the data will get cleared from the device.

• In recovery mode select “install from zip card” and select the “root.zip” file for rooting the device. It will take around 3 -4 minutes for rooting the device. Once the device is rooted, the phone will be rebooted.

• Now, once the device gets rebooted you need to download the “Root Checker” app from the Google PLAY Store and then check on whether the device is rooted or not. Just in case if the device is not rooted you will have to try the process again.
