Procedure to Update Galaxy R I9103 with CM 10 Jellybean 4.1.2 based Firmware:
- Download the CM 10 Jellybean 4.1.2 firmware package and Google Apps Package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and place the two downloaded zip files in your Galaxy R, ensure that you are not placing the file deep into the device as it may not get detected in the recovery mode.
- Turn Off your Samsung Galaxy R I9103 so that it can be entered in the Recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by “Pressing Volume Up key+ Menu Key + Power ON the device”. Once you enter into the recovery mode, you need to select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition” so that this will clear the cache in your device.
- In recovery mode, select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” after which you need to select the CM 10 Firmware Package which you have placed in your device and then select the Google Apps Package. Please note that once the files are selected, it will take around 5 -6 minutes for applying the update.
- Once the update is applied successfully, select “go back” and “reboot system now” for rebooting the device in the normal mode. Please note that it may take longer time than expected for rebooting the device as it’s the first time the device is being rebooted after updating the firmware.
Note: If your Galaxy R refuses to boot or gets in the boot loop mode, you need to re insert the battery and turn ON the device normally. You can also re apply the update by following the above mentioned steps.
