Critical Atoms is a board game where other players' pebbles (i.e. atoms) are taken over as a result of an atom explosion (i.e. a nuclear fission) caused by reaching atomic critical mass. An explosion may trigger a chain reaction causing subsequent explosions and taking over many other atoms during a single turn. A game begins with an empty board. Each turn a player can either put an atom of mass 1 onto an empty tile or increase by 1 the mass of her or his atom placed in previous turns. Atomic critcal mass is usually 4 except the edges of the board where it is 3 and the corners where it is 2. After reaching the critical mass an explosion spreads atomic parts of mass 1 onto adjacent tiles. If an atom is present on the adjacent tile, its atomic mass is increased by 1. In addition, if the atom belongs to the other player, it is taken over by the player who caused the explosion. The player who takes over all atoms on the board wins the game. A chain reaction ensues when an atom explosion causes reaching critical mass on adjacent tiles. That in turn causes more explosions. The application offers: - Playing with up to three other players: your friends or AI. - Three levels of AI player difficulty. - Support for landscape and portrait phone's orientations. - English, German and Polish language.
