Download Official XXBLFB Android 4.0.4 ICS Firmware for galaxy s3 (manual installation)

If you have not received this ICS update via OTA yet now in your region, but still want to flash or install it up on your Galaxy S3, then here is guide  for you.

  • Root & Install ClockworkMod Recovery on your Galaxy S3. You can also make use of CF-Root kernel package to do so quite easily.
  • Download & Install all essential device drivers on your PC. You can also make use of Kies application to get that done with ease.
  • Download Odin flashing tool from here – Download Link.
  • Now, download the XXBLFB Android 4.0.4 ICS Firmware / ROM Package for your Galaxy S3 from here – Free Download.
  • Extract the .zip files of the ROM and Odin.
  • Now turn off your phone and then enter into download or flash mode by pressing & holding these buttons for a while - Volume Down + Home + Power and then press the Volume Up button when you see something on the screen of your device.
  • Now connect your phone with the computer using a data cable.
  • Now open up Odin on your computer and then click on the ‘PDA’ option.
  • After that, just select this file - I9300XXBLFB_I9300OXABLFB_I9300XXLFB_HOME.tar.md5 from the extracted directory of the .zip file of the XXBLFB ICS ROM.
  • Now, click on the ‘Start’ button from the application window of Odin.
  • Disconnect your phone from the computer once the firmware is completely installed & the Samsung logo have appeared on the screen of your Samsung Galaxy S3.
  • Now turn off your phone and then enter into recovery mode by pressing and holding these buttons for a while - Volume Up + Home + Power.
  • Select – Wipe Data/Factory Reset and then Wipe Dalvik Cache.
  • Now go back by selecting – ++++ Go Back ++++ and then select - Reboot System Now to restart your device.

Oh yeah, this official XXBLFB Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) Firmware or ROM has now been successfully installed on your Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300. hello.

Do I have to root my S3 to install this update manually? I have my s3 since middle june and this update hasent been pushed to me yet
