Download Galaxy Note II Toolkit to Root UnRoot Backup & Flash Recovery to Stock
Samsung always releases the source codes for its devices, so that
it makes things easier for people to develop or hack into the internal
system and make things better. The Android Developer community too keeps
working on the Samsung Android phones as they keep getting the latest
source codes even for the new updates for the devices, and these codes
help in the easy hacking and development. Just like the other devices,
the Samsung Galaxy Note II also has got the toolkit which would enable the various developer options.
The XDA Developers have developed a Galaxy Note2 Toolkit, which does
most of the important stuff that a smartphone user would need. It
automatically installs the device drivers for the Note 2, and then would
enable gaining root access to the device, and do a lot more stuff. Here
are a few things a user could do once they install the Toolkit for the
Note2.
- Install Galaxy Note II drivers onto your PC
- Root the Galaxy Note II
- Flash Insecure Boot Image
- Flash Custom Recovery (CWM or TWRP)
- ReFlash Stock Recovery via Odin
- Backup and Restore the Galaxy Note II
- Use Odin to Download, Extract and Flash the Stock ROM
- Install APK install files into your phone
- Push or Pull files to/from the phone
- Set File Permissions on the phone
- Install Busybox on phone
- Create on Odin flashable tar from an img file
For the users who donate to the Samsung Galaxy Note2 Toolkit Project
Development, they get a few options like quick picks in which they can
store up to 10 programmable tasks for their phone through this toolkit.
A few developer options using the Toolkit includes:
- Root on any ROM via ClockworkMod using SuperSU or Superuser
- Pull cache.img, convert to flashable ZIP for ClockworkMod Recovery
- Flash Stock Recovery and extract + flash Stock ROM to retain manufacturer warranty
The all-in-one toolkit has been tested on International GSM, T-Mobile
& Sprint, but the developer says that it will work on US Cellular
(SCH-R950) and Rogers/AT7T (SGH-L317M) variants as well.

Once you download the Galaxy Note II Toolkit, here is how you install it:
Read the important information, with a note which says that the
folders having brackets would give problems for few processes in the
toolkit.
Select the components to install – Main files of the toolkit, or the
drivers where you can copy driver files for the toolkit usage.
After the components are selected, the installation starts with the the unpacking of the files etc.
Once the toolkit is installed, you need to select the phone model and
build – Select from the international models, sprint model, T-mobile
model, US Cellular model.
- International model – Android 4.1.1 (Build JRO03C ALIE)
- International model – Android 4.1.1 (Build JRO03C ALJ1)
- International model – Android 4.1.1 (Build JRO03C ALJ3)
- Sprint Model SPH-L900 Android 4.1.1 (Build JRO03C ALJ1)
- T-mobile Model SGH-T889 Android 4.1.1 (Build JRO03C ALJ1)

The toolkit isn’t helpful only for the developers, but for the normal
users too who wanted to do the basic stuff like file transfers,
installing the drivers of the phones in their computers and even root
the device. Backing up of the phone and recovering the stock ROM into
the Galaxy Note II is also possible, especially for users who have less
knowledge of how to get stuff done.
