Last year, Samsung announced ChatON, a cross-platform messaging app. It launched for Android in October, and even made its way onto iOS in January, but it looks like Samsung has even bigger plans for ChatON and has since launched a web version of the messaging service, and it is expected to work for feature phones and computers alike.
We guess when Samsung said it would be a cross-platform app, we were thinking more in terms of cross-platform between smartphone operating systems, but with the inclusion of the web version, feature phone users with access to basic browser software should be able to access the service, along with computer users at home who will be able to send messages to their friends who will then receive it on their mobile devices.
For those unfamiliar, ChatON is a messaging app that’s somewhat similar to the other messaging apps out there. Users will be able to send text, images, calendar appointments and share contacts. If you’d like to take the web version of ChatON for a spin, head on over to its website, although you will need to sign up for a ChatON account if you don’t already have one.
