How to Root Galaxy S3 GT I9300 on XXUGNB6 Firmware

Procedure to Root Galaxy S3 GT I9300 on XXUGNB6 Firmware:
  • Download  XXUGNB6 Rooting Package along with Odin from here to your computer. Once downloaded, you now need to enter your Galaxy S3 I9300 in download mode.
  • Turn off your Galaxy S3 I9300 and after 5 seconds or when your device gives a small vibration, hold the Volume Down button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, you need to switch ON your device to see the Green Robot on the screen.
  • Connect your device in Download mode with the computer in which you have opened the Odin. In Odin you will see that the ID:COM section will turn yellow indicating that all the drivers are installed successfully.
  • Once done, click on “PDA” / “AP” depending upon the Odin version to choose the Rooting tar file which you got after extraction and click on “Start” to start the process of rooting. It will take around a minute for rooting the device. In some cases it may taken even longer time than expected.
  • Download the “Root Checker” app from the Google PLAY Store to check on whether the device is rooted or not. Just in case if the device is not rooted, you need to retry the process of rooting.
Tip: Since rooting voids warranty, if you need to get back the lost warranty, you need to update the device with the below mentioned firmware by following the respective instructions.

Download and install Update Galaxy S3 with most stable & Official Jellybean 4.3 XXUGNB6 Android Firmware

Guide to Update Galaxy S3 with Jellybean 4.3 Android OS:
  • Turn off your device so that it can be entered in the Download Mode. Press and hold Home + Power + Volume down buttons to enter the device in the Download Mode. If your Galaxy S3 i9300 enters in the Normal mode, then you need to re try the process of entering the device in the Download Mode.
  • Connect your device to the computer using the original USB cable to see that the ID: COM section turns Blue which indicates that all the drivers have been installed in the computer.
  • Now, in Odin, select Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options. But, the Re-Partition option must be checked.
  • Click on “AP” to choose the tar file which you got after extracting the firmware file. Once the tar file is selected, click on “Start” to start the process of firmware update. Please note that the whole process of firmware update will take around 4 -5 minutes and once done, you now need to wait to see “PASS” in Odin.
  • If Google Apps gets crashed after installing, you need to turn Off the device so that it can be entered in the recovery mode. Press and hold Home + Power + Volume Up buttons to enter the device in the Recovery Mode. If your Galaxy S3 i9300 enters in the Normal mode, then you need to re try the process of entering the device in the Recovery Mode.
  • In recovery mode, select “Clear Cache/ Wipe Data” options to clear the cache and wipe the data. As soon as the device gets rebooted, you can then head over to the Settings > More to check out the current version details in About Phone section where it will be mentioned as XXUGNB6 Jellybean 4.3 Android OS.
Note: If at all your Galaxy S3 I9300 smartphone gets in the boot loop mode, then you need to turn off the device and then reapply the update from the start. To turn off you can reinsert the battery or say you can long press the power button and repeat the whole process again.

Download and install Update Galaxy S4 I9500 with Official Kitkat 4.4.2 XXUFNB3 Firmware

Procedure to Manual Update Galaxy S4 I9500 Android Phone with KitKat 4.4.2 XXUFNB3 Android Firmware:
  • Press and hold Home + Power + Volume down buttons to enter the device in the Download Mode. If your Galaxy S4 I9500 enters in the Normal mode, then you need to re try the process of entering the device in the Download Mode.
  • Click on “AP” tab in the Odin to select the tar file which you got after extracting the firmware package to click on “Start” in Odin.

  • Disconnect the device so that it can be entered in the Recovery Mode. Manually Galaxy Note 2 N7100 can be entered in the recovery mode by pressing Volume Up Key, Centre button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button after which you will get to see a green robot indicating that the device has entered in the recovery mode.

Procedure to Manual Update Galaxy S4 M919 Android Phone with KitKat 4.4.2 XXUFNB3 Android Firmware:
  • Once placed, you then will have to disconnect the device so that it can be entered in the recovery mode.
  • Turn off your device so that it can be entered in the Recovery Mode. Galaxy S4 can be entered into the recovery mode by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, you need to switch ON your device.
  • Alternatively, you can also enter the recovery mode with the help of “ROM Manager” app. In recovery mode, select corresponding options to clear and wipe the data present in your phone.
  • In recovery mode, select “install zip from sd card” and then choose the zip file of Firmware Zip Package which you have placed in your phone. Now, once the firmware is updated, select “Go Back” and select “reboot system now”.
  • Please note that it might take 3 -4 minutes for applying the update. Once the update is applied and once you see the home screen in your device, you can disconnect the device from computer.
  • To check on whether the firmware is applied successfully or not, head over to the path “Settings > About Phone” where the firmware version will be mentioned as KitKat 4.4.2 firmware.
