Download and install - Update Galaxy s3 Root on XXDLIH Jellybean 4.1 Firmware

Procedure to Root Galaxy S3 on XXDLIH Jellybean 4.1 Firmware:
  • Download Odin and XXDLIH Rooting Package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, you now need to extract the rooting package and Odin in your computer.
  • Open odin in your computer and turn off your phone so that it can be entered in the Download Mode.
  • Download Mode in Galaxy S3 can be entered by pressing the Volume Down rocker key + power button at the same time while the device is turned Off. If the device starts in the normal mode, you need to re try the process of the entering the device into the download mode. Refer below video on how to enter your Galaxy S3 in the Download Mode.
  • Click on “PDA” to select “CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4.tar” and then click on “Start”. Once you click on start, it will take around 2 – 3 minutes for rooting the device. Please note that once the device is rooted, the device will be rebooted automatically.
  • You can now disconnect the device and check whether the device is rooted or not. To check on whether your device is rooted or not, you will have to download the “Root Checker” app from the Google PLAY Store. If your device is not rooted, you will have to follow the instructions mentioned above for rooting your Galaxy S3.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.

Download and install - Update Galaxy Note N7000 Root on XXLS2 Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware

Tutorial to Root Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 on Jellybean 4.1 XXLS2 Firmware:
  • Download the Rooting Package and Odin from here to your computer. Once downloaded, extract both the zip files in your computer to Open Odin in your computer.
  • Turn Off your Galaxy Note so that it can be entered in the download mode. The download mode can be entered by pressing Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Just in case if the device turns ON in the normal mode, you will have to again retry entering the device in the download mode.
  • Now, connect your Note N7000 to the computer with the help of original USB cable after which you will see that the ID : COM section will turn Yellow indicating that all the drivers are OK and you can now proceed to next step.
  • Click on “PDA” to select the tar file which you will get after extracting the rooting package in odin to click on “Start”. As soon as the rooting process is completed, the device will be rebooted. The whole process of rooting will tase around 3 – 4 minutes, in some case it may take longer time as well.
  • To check on whether your device is rooted or not, you will have to download the “Root Checker” app from the Google PLAY Store. Just in case if the device is not rooted, you will have to re follow the instructions.
Note: Just in a rare case if the device doesn’t boot up or show the home screen then remove the battery and reinsert the same to boot the device again in the normal mode.

Download and install - Update Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 with Official Jellybean 4.1 XXBLJ9 Firmware

Procedure to Update Galaxy Note N8000 10.1 tablet with XXBLJ9 Jellybean 4.1 firmware:
  • Open odin in your computer and turn Off your tablet so that it can be entered in the Download Mode.
  • Now, hold Volume Down rocker key and holding this press the Power button till you see the Warning Screen. Now, on WARNING Screen you will have to press the Volume Up key to enter the device in the download mode.
  • In download mode, connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and select the “N8000XXBLJ9_N8000OXABLJ9_412156_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5” file in “PDA” in Odin. Once the file is selected, click on “Start” to commence the process of firmware update.
  • As soon as the firmware is updated successfully, you now need to wait for the device to show the country selector after which you can disconnect the device connected with computer. The whole process of firmware update may take around 7 – 10 minutes. Also, once the update is applied, the device will take longer time than usual for booting the device.
  • To check whether your phone is updated or not, head over to the path “Settings > About Phone” where you will get to see the firmware version as Jellybean 4.1 XXBLJ9.
Users Facing Force Close Issues:
Turn Of your Galaxy Note N8000 to enter your device in the recovery mode. In the recovery mode select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option.

  • Now, open Odin in your computer and turn off your Galaxy Note N7000 so that it can be entered in the download mode.   • As soon as the firmware is update, the device will reboot and once you see the country selector, disconnect the phone from computer to follow on screen instructions for setting up the phone. To check whether your phone is updated or not, head over to the path “Settings > About Phone” where you will get to see the firmware version as Jellybean 4.1.1 XXLS2.
Note: Just in a rare case if the device doesn’t boot up or show the home screen then remove the battery and reinsert the same to boot the device again in the normal mode.
For Users Facing Force Close Issues:
  • If at all your device is facing issues like force close issues in most of the apps, you will now have to turn off the device and clear the cache from the recovery mode.

  • Once placed the file, you need to open the Command prompt in your computer to enter the command as mentioned below,

  • Now, press Volume Up button to see the option of “Recovery Mode” and then press the power button to enter into the same. Alternatively, you can also enter your Nexus in the recovery mode by pressing the “Volume Up + Volume Down” button simultaneously and keeping holding these two buttons you need to press the power button. Ensure that you will have to turn off the device before performing the manual step of entering into recovery.
  • In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition” and then select “install zip from sd card”> “choose zip from internal sd card” to select the Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware Package which you have placed in your device. Once the firmware is applied successfully, you will then get to see a message “install from sd card complete”. So, once the firmware is updated successfully select “go back” and choose the option of reboot system now.

Procedure to Update Galaxy Note N7000 with Paranoid custom ROM firmware:
  • Download the 4.1.2 Paranoid Custom ROM Firmware Package and Google Apps Package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your Galaxy Note N7000 with the help of original USB cable and place these two zip files in your Galaxy Note. Ensure that you are not placing the zip file deep into the sub folders.
  • Once the zip file is placed, disconnect the device and download the “ROM Manager” app from the PLAY Store. Please note that you should not backup the data with this app as it may brick your Galaxy Note. Now, either with the help of ROM Manager app you can enter the device in the recovery mode or with the help of below mentioned manual step you can easily enter the device in the recovery mode.
  • Hold the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button) and while holding these both keys, press the Power button for turning the device ON in the recovery mode in your Galaxy Note.
  • In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition”. Also, select “advanced” and clear the Dalvik cache too if you are on the custom ROM firmware.
  • Up next select “install zip from sd card” to select the placed paranoid custom ROM firmware and the Google Apps Package. Once the firmware is completed, the screen will read as “install from sd card complete” after which you need to select “go back” and then “reboot system now” for rebooting the device in the normal mode.
  • To check on whether the Paranoid custom ROM firmware has been updated or not, you need to check the same from the path “Settings > About Phone” where you will find the firmware version as jellybean 4.1.2 and Paranoid.
Note: just in a rare case if the device doesn’t boot up or show the home screen then remove the battery and reinsert the same to boot the device again in the normal mode.

  • Download the C-RoM Mix v5.0 firmware package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your Galaxy S GT I9000 to the computer with the help of original USB cable and place the zip file into the sd card. Ensure that you are not placing the files deep into the sub folders.
  • Recovery mode in Galaxy S GT I9000 can be entered by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, turn ON your device.

  • Disconnect the device and turn off the device so that it can be entered in the recovery mode. Recovery mode in Galaxy S2 GT I9100 can be entered by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, turn ON your device. In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition”. If the device starts normally, then you will need to re try the process of entering the device in the recovery mode.
  • Alternatively, you can also enter the device into recovery mode with the help of ROM Manager app. Now, in recovery mode select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from internal sd card” and then choose the Android revolution custom ROM firmware Package

  • Download the Jellybam 4.2 Firmware Package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and place the zip file in your device.
  • Once you have placed the file, disconnect the device and turn off your device so that it can be entered in the recovery mode.
  • Recovery mode in Galaxy S3 GT I9100 can be entered by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, turn ON your device.
  • In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition”. If the device starts normally, then you will need to re try the process of entering the device in the recovery mode. You can also enter the device in recovery mode alternatively via the ROM Manager app which can be downloaded from the Google PLAY Store.
  • Now, in the recovery mode, select “install zip from SD Card” to select the zip file of Jellybam which you have placed in your device’s SD Card. As soon as you see the message of “installing from sd card completed” at the bottom of the screen, you now need select “go back” and then select “reboot system now” for rebooting the device in the normal mode. Device will take longer time than expected for rebooting the device.

  • For your phone to show the home screen, it might take longer than expected time as it is the first time after installing the firmware update.
  • Once the update is applied, select the option of “Go Back” and “Reboot System now” for rebooting the device in the normal mode. Since it’s a first reboot, it will take more time than the normal mode as it has to finalize all the apps etc.
