Here is a short list of highlights:

  • Google Now: new intuitive optional voice-activated search. In German, unfortunately, still without speech
  • Notification bar displays more content

Tip: Tested with Titanium Backup with you if some apps like the movie store were frozen and activated if necessary. For me 3 or 4 applications were turned off.

Pre Requisites:
  • In the process of installing custom ROM firmware, since the data and cache needs to be wiped, you need to ensure that you have backed up all the data present in your device manually with the help of below instructions. Don’t use KIES to back up the data as it won’t detect the S II in the custom ROM firmware.

  •  Procedure to Update Galaxy S II GT I9100 with Root Box Custom ROM Firmware
  • Download Root Box Custom ROM Firmware Package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your device to the computer and place the same in your device. Once you have placed the firmware zip file, you then will have to then turn Off the phone to enter the device in the recovery mode.
  • Recovery mode in Galaxy S II I9100 can be entered by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, turn ON your device. In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition”. Additionally, select “advanced” and clear the Dalvik cache too if you are on the custom ROM firmware.
  • Up next, Select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then select the “Root Box Custom ROM Firmware” which you have placed in your device. Once the process of firmware installation is done, the device will land back on the recovery mode screen.
  • In the recovery mode screen, select “Go Back” and select “reboot system now” for rebooting the device.
  • Please note that once installed, you can check the same from the Settings > About Phone path where it will show as Root Box Custom ROM Firmware.
Note: If your Galaxy S II GT I9100 refuses to boot up or fails to get started, then you will have to re insert the battery and reboot the device so as to start your phone. If the firmware update gets failed, then you need to again re try the whole process.
So there you go, you have now successfully install the firmware in your Galaxy S II. Do let us know in the comments section just in case if there are any issues faced in the process of updating this firmware.

FootScore (bada - wave app)

This application turns your phone into a eletronic scoreboard for football games. The scoreboard shows the period, stopwatch, teams names and scores. At the end of each period the stopwatch JUST TURNS RED. If the application is accidently closed, it automatically saves all information and restores them when the application is restarted, including an updated stopwatch as if the application had not been closed.

FolderPlayer (bada - wave app)

FolderPlayer is a simple music player with the following features: - it allows composing tracklist from:   (a) all audio files from the selected folder(s)   (b) selected audio file(s)   (c) playlists of simple text format (one file per line) - it can handle "Favorites" - it fully supports "in-pocket usage" scenario:   (a) it can use Camera hardware key to play/pause and to jump to next track   (b) when playing, it can use Volume hardware keys not only to adjust volume level but also to add current track to Favorites   (c) it can stay in foreground (and thus response to all hardware keys) even with its screen locked - when not playing, it can use Volume hardware keys to sort tracks in the tracklist - it can export "Favorites" to the storage card, so you can use those "Favorites" on your PC - of course, it supports "Shuffle" and "Replay" modes - if so desired, it can play even on low battery - at last (but not the least) it has a very detailed help  Version 1.0.2 has English interface and has been tested with S8500 (Wave) phone.

Fly House (bada - wave game)

The early 17th century. In a Europe town there's a legend going about that... A building for god is on the cloud. The one ,who lives in it,will be carefree and long-lived.  It's a hot-air balloon era. Many people try to use hot-air balloon to find the building.

CyanogenMod published 9 Release Candidate RC1 for Galaxy tab

Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000 Android ICS 4.0.3 CM9 RC1 CyanogenMod published 9 Release Candidate RC1

CyanogenMod 9 goes to the next round

After some development time just seem to almost all supported devices first Release Candidate (RC1) of CyanogenMod 9 - which are similar in functionality to the later official version of CM9. Because of the varied number of different devices (over 70), a general statement about the stability can hardly be met. As a rule, so teach us the lessons of the past, the
CyanogenMod 9 Release Candidate versions of everyday use and fully stable. Have to wait for an official RC1 release Owner of a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Samsung's sometimes quite obscure source policy makes the diligent development community a spanner in the works, the camera does not work to date.
Nevertheless, it should be worth taking a look at the current status of all 9-CyanogenMod customROM fans.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus – PGM Nexus Slide2Wake

Samsung Galaxy Nexus – PGM Nexus Slide2Walk
PGM Nexus or Slide2Walk allows users of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus enfache and convenient unlock its Android smartphones with a casual finger motion across the screen switched off. Ideal for lazy people or finger to all those whose power button for whatever reason (too much flashed?) No longer works properly. In practice this means in the future only with Flash2Walk: Unpacking the phone, slide a finger across the screen and you can end up on his Galaxy Nexus homescreen.
We owe (the original version was originally only available for the U.S. EVO3D) of this port by the way Slide2Walk XDA member bponury-up to the fact that each kernel is not supported yet, there are no limitations in functionality Galaxy of your Nexus.
PGM Nexus is a free version available with limited functionality, and unfortunately a little expensive premium version available from Google play.

Configuration options:
  • start point: X and Y values (as seen from portrait mode) in pixels - where the gesture should start
  • stop point: the same as above
  • Threshold: also X and Y - defines how much your finger can go off the perfect line connecting start and stop
  • timeout (ms): time in milliseconds to discard gesture, so if your swipe takes longer than N millis then it's discarded

Supported kernels (might not be complete):
  • Franco nightly 194
  • Faux123 standard kernel (default from AOKP)
  • Stock
  • Trinity alpha 95

Battery life:
This is not a simple application. It's a kernel module which controls input requests from the hardware. Phone should go into deep sleep and battery performance should not be affected more than 1-5% (IRL I really can't tell if it causes any battery drain at all - if it is - it's insignificant).

Changelog:
  • 1.6 2012-06-26
    • fixed enabled/disabled toggling in gestures which was craaazyyy
    • fixed values switching between gestures
  • 1.5 2012-06-25
    • fixed spontaneous reboot on some kernels
    • fixed "double-swipe-bug"
    • module not loading on boot should also be fixed
    • reboots upon loading module still happen on some kernels - won'tfix
  • 1.4 2012-06-23
    • NEW GESTURE! (FULL APP ONLY) - slide2media_next - play next song (or start playing) with swiping left->right on the bottom of screen
    • fixed error that prevented locking after boot
    • fixed a bug where unlocked app showed as locked
    • fixed gesture descriptions
    • fixed one FC

  • 1.3 2012-06-21
